Do you choose one picture among a dozen to put up as your profile picture? Do you keep redoing pictures till you look at least a kilogram slimmer? Do you have that one angle pose in all your pictures? How about trying a pout selfie?
While you may wear black to camouflage all that weight, I have some amazing ideas for some super sexy and slim-effect pictures! Did you know - People who can take a perfect selfie are more intelligent?
Tips and tricks
When getting clicked in a group, never stand at the end. Push yourself in between with your body slightly twisted to either side.
Never, and I mean never get clicked from below, it will only make you look bigger. The camera should be above or at least in line with your eye.
Getting clicked when sitting? Always cross your legs and turn your body slightly sideways. (Always better to stand though.)
Get the camera above you for that super chic selfie. Raise your chin, turn your head a bit and flash that beautiful smile. Click! There’s a masterpiece!
A standalone picture is just right when you are turned sideways and looking straight into the camera. Hands could be straight or held, but definitely not on the hips.
To hide huge arms wear clothes with sleeves. You could also pose sideways to show off just one side. It helps create a slimmer effect.
Tied up hair can make you look slimmer, a high pony tail or bun will do the trick! Team this hairdo with some nice long dangle earrings for that slim effect.
If you have shoulder length hair to your rescue, keep them open and straightened for that long-face effect.
Always smile genuinely. Think of a happy moment if you’re not in the mood to smile.
Be comfortable in your skin, it shows!.

5 Everyday Things That Treat Acne
Keep your skin looking wonderful and help prevent acne flare-ups with these everyday items.
When a pimple rears its ugly head, there are several over-the-counter products that can help. But then, so too can simple natural remedies. Here are five things you may have in the kitchen or around the house that can help kick acne to the curb:
Apply vinegar or lemon juice to pimples using a cotton wool ball. The acids present in lemon juice and all vinegars can help to flush out pores. Toothpaste smeared on an outbreak is also reputed to work well – try applying it before you go to bed.
2. Aloe Vera
Apply aloe vera. One study found that 90 per cent of skin sores were completely healed with aloe vera within five days. Buy a product containing aloe vera, or squeeze the gel from the middle of a freshly cut leaf and apply it to the skin.
3. Yogurt
Applying live, natural yogurt to the skin helps soothe and heal, particularly after a camomile steam bath has opened up the sebaceous glands. Allow the steam to rise over your face.
4. Chasteberry Tea
For acne that flares up before a menstrual period, drink 1 to 2 cups of chasteberry tea a day. Some studies show that this herb helps to regulate female hormones, but give it two or three months to work. Sage and red clover may also help control excess production of sebum by moderating hormone levels.
5. Tea Tree Oil
Apply a drop of tea-tree oil to blemishes three times a day to discourage infection and speed up healing. Research has found that 5 per cent tea-tree oil is as effective against acne as a 5 per cent benzoyl peroxide solution.

How To Make Non-Toxic Homemade Sunscreen
Chemical Sunscreens Can Be Really Scary . . .
Most of the active chemical ingredients contain potent endocrine disruptors, and experts believe exposure to them is changing us for the worse. And as we talked about yesterday, many “healthy” mineral sunscreens contain nanoparticles which have been linked to accelerated skin aging, cancer and environmental toxicity. Not to mention that many of them use omega-6 rich oils such as soy and sunflower/safflower, which may disturb the healthy balance of fats most likely to resist oxidation.
Most days we skip sunscreen altogether and use antioxidants instead, but on days we are going to be out much longer than usual we do use sunscreen.
Based on all the scary stuff I just mentioned you may be asking if there are ANY sunscreens I’d recommend. Thanks to this sunscreen review by Katie over at Kitchen Stewardship, the answer is yes. Most days I skip the sunscreen and let antioxidants do the work, but for long days at the beach Green Screen is something I would be comfortable using on my family. It’s not perfect – it contains a small amount of soy – but it’s very good overall.
(Where to buy my top sunscreen pick)
Loving Naturals also has a pretty good one. They actually list the micron size of their zinc oxide – it’s within range of normal particles so I’m guessing it’s not micronized. The only thing I’d change is switch out the omega-6 rich sunflower oil for something else. Not a huge deal to me, though. And yay! They have a baby version, too!
Where to buy my #2 sunscreen pick
What’s The Difference Between Nano-sized and Micronized?
Good question! Micronization is a grinding process, not a size. It can be used to make nanomaterials (100 nanometers or smaller, usually around 10-50), or something smaller than nanosize but larger than the non-micronized “bulk” form that has been shown to be non-toxic (200-500 nanometers).
From what I understand, micronization appears to create at least some nanoparticles through it’s process even when the targeted size is larger . . . kind of like leftover sawdust. So even if it is “non-nano” micronized there is still a possibility it contains nanomaterial. Bulk forms that have not been subjected to micronization do not carry that risk. This may not be a factor at all (reports are conflicting), but for now I’m staying away from them.

4 Simple Steps To Do Manicure And Pedicure At Home
“Beauty goes beyond a pretty face”: Whoever said so was very wise. There is a big difference between being pretty genetically and being well-groomed. A girl who takes care of herself can be identified instantly. All girls take care of themselves to maintain a pretty face. But, to figure who truly takes proper care of herself, just look at her hands and feet. Being the essential parts of the human body, hands and feet go through the most amount of torture day in and day out. Without proper care, they show early signs of aging and exposure. To take due care, they should be given proper manicure and pedicure, at least once every fortnight.
Everyone has a wrong notion that manicure and pedicures are meant only for those who have the time and money to go to a luxury spa/parlor. But, with a few basic necessities anyone can have well-groomed hands and feet.
Required Things For Manicure And Pedicure:

We’ve All Been Putting Our Makeup on the Wrong Way
Turns out, the order you apply each product is super important.
Believe it or not, when it comes to your makeup, the order you put things on is just as important as the products you use.
And surprisingly, face makeup shouldn’t actually be your first step. If your eye makeup somehow always migrates onto your face—causing you to have to take off your foundation and start from the beginning—there’s an easy fix for that: Start your makeup application with your eye makeup instead.
"Eye shadow has a tendency to flake during application, especially when creating a smoky eye,” says Jennifer Fleming, a CoverGirl makeup artist. “Starting with eyes ensures you won't need to reapply foundation and concealer.” Pretty genius, right? This trick will save you serious time getting ready.
And when it comes to your eye makeup, you should use eye shadow first, then eyeliner, which is used to layer your shadow and create more definition. However, "If you don't have a steady hand, you can apply eyeliner first and then blend eye shadow on top to soften the line," she says.
Put your mascara on last since "applying eye shadow [or liner] after [mascara] can cause the products to flake onto the lashes and cause clumps," says Fleming.
Then you can go about your business as usual, applying foundation, concealer, and powder. If you want a sun-kissed glow, dust on bronzer after powder since bronzer is meant to only add color to areas where the sun naturally hits (think hairline, temples, bridge of the nose, and cheekbones), says Fleming.
As for your lips, always apply lip liner before lipstick—it works as a primer and defines the lip’s shape, says Fleming.

How to Dress up for a Party
Do you love parties, but you're not really sure how to dress up for one? What if you are shy and just want to make a good first impression? Not to worry - this article will tell you everything you need to know about dressing and generally getting ready for a party. Just see Step 1 below to get started.
started.
Method 1 of 3: Choosing an Outfit and Accessories
1
Think about the time and location of the party. As all girls know, choosing the right outfit for a party is a very important task. The first thing you need to consider is the time and location of the party, as this will affect everything -- from your clothes and your shoes to your jewelry and makeup!
If the party is during the day, at a bowling alley or theme park, you probably want to go with something comfortable yet cool, like jeans and a statement tee.
If the party is at night, in a fancy restaurant or club, you will probably need to go a little dressier and wear something like a cute dress, a playsuit or a skirt and top combo.
2
Consider your own personal style. When you're attending a cool party, you want to stand out -- but in a good way.
So if you want to be unique, you should come up with a cool alternative to the norm that suits your personality but still fits with the vibe of the party.
For example, if you're not the type of girl who would normally wear high heels, but you still want to look glam, you could try wearing a pair of bejewelled sneakers instead!
3
Think about your budget. Can you afford to buy a new outfit, or do you need to work with what's already in your wardrobe?
If it's the latter, consider combining your existing clothes in new and unusual ways, try layering a couple of tops on top of each other, clashing non-matching patterns or combining unusual fabric -- like a black biker jacket with a pretty silk dress.

11 Things Girls Who Are Addicted to Beauty Products Do But Will Never Admit To
Time to 'fess up.
Do you know your way around a Sephora better than the employees? And have you ever joked around that you should be on an episode of Hoarders because of how many makeup, skin-care, and hair products you own?Don’t worry, there’s no shame in being obsessed with beauty products (we admit that we are, too). After all, using the right foundation or styling cream can instantly transform your look and make you feel more confident. So if beauty addict describes you, it's time to own up. Here are some of the hilariously wacky habits you’ve probably done more times than you can count (even though you've never opened up about them before):
1. You Buy Stuff Just to Get the Bonus Points at Sephora
You’re part of the VIB (that’s Very Important Beauty Insider, thank you very much) club for life.
2. You Buy Your Favorite Product in Mass Quantities Because You Heard a Rumor It Might Be Discontinued
You better believe no one else is getting their hands on that Maybelline mascara.
3. You Stalk eBay for Products That Have Already Been Discontinued
$60 for your favorite, no-longer-made drugstore powder is a total steal, right? Right?!
4. You Get Your Makeup Done at Sephora Before a Night Out
And you feel triumphant when you don't let a saleslady pressure you into buying anything.
5. You're a Little Too Attached to That Lip Gloss You’ve Used Once in the Last Five Years
You get sad when you think about tossing it. It might be full of germs, but it’s so pretty!
6. You Keep Multiples of the Same Product Everywhere
You have an EOS lip balm in your purse, your car, and your office desk drawer.
7. You Pack an Entire Suitcase Full of Products When You Travel
You just never know when a facial cleansing oil could come in handy.
8. You’re the First One in Line at the MAC Store Whenever a Limited-Edition Collection Comes Out
Hello Kitty, Wonder Woman, Cinderella: You’ve got ‘em all.
9. You Plan Your Outfits Around Your Makeup
You truly believe eye shadow is the best accessory.
10. You Call a Shopping Spree at Sephora or ULTA a “Haul”
Because haul sounds so much better than credit card debt, doesn’t it?
11. Speaking of Money, You Spend Way More on Beauty Products Than You Do on Clothes—Or Food
Who needs a stocked fridge when you’ve got antioxidant-packed eye creams and moisturizers?

Do You Sweat More Than Normal?
Sure, it's the season of sweat. But are sweatier than the girl next to you?
"They" say girls don't sweat, but mist. "They" lie.
Each and every hour, the average girl sweats five ounces—enough to fill a wine glass, says Michael Shapiro, M.D., medical director of Vanguard Dermatology in New York. And that’s before you factor in scorching temps, stress, and killer workouts.
That's pretty darn sweaty—and chances are you sweat even more than the average lass. Why? One study published in Experimental Physiology found that fit women sweat much more than their unfit counterparts. And despite the pit stains, that's actually a great thing.
The sweat-fitness connection: During exercise, your body adapts to sweat both at a lower internal body temperature as well as at a higher rate. Basically, your body learns it's going to work hard on the regular, so it ups its sweating game to keep you cool—and prevent heat exhaustion—during upcoming physical demands.
According to some researchers, that might be why women still sweat less than men (four times less, on average, according to Shapiro). Just think: Women of our hunter-gatherer ancestry didn’t have to do nearly as much physical labor as their male counterparts did.
But while sweat is any fitness-lover's friend, you can sweat too much—and about one to three percent of all women do, says Shapiro. Hyperhidrosis (layman's term for excessive sweating), can not only be embarrassing and annoying, but if really severe, it could lead to dehydration and off-kilter electrolyte levels. If you feel like you're sweating more than you used to, you perspire when you're neither warm nor stressed (all over or even just on one spot of your body), or you suffer from night sweats, see your doctor to find out if you might have the condition.

The Best Drugstore Stand-Ins for High-End Makeup Favorites
Saving money has never looked so good.
Who can resist a good beauty bargain that will get you glam without costing you the big bucks? We scoured drugstore shelves and consulted the industry’s top makeup artists and experts for the ultimate list of inexpensive dupes for your favorite high-end makeup products.
Mascara
Just a few flicks of Boots No7 Extreme Length Lash mascara will give you the same luscious, sky-high fringe as its high-end counterpart. “It adds a ton of length, and the formula is soft and clump-free,” says Kerry Cole, style director of Becca
Liquid Liner
Wet n Wild’s intensely pigmented formula and simple brush applicator make it just as easy and effortless to create precise lines as the Lancôme cult classic. “The royal blue and teal are super rich shades,” says Lauren Cosenza, a professional makeup artist and founder of DIVAlicious blog.
Eyebrow Pencil
Andrea Pomerantz Lustig, a veteran beauty editor and author of How to Look Expensive: A Beauty Editor’s Secrets to Getting Gorgeous Without Breaking the Bank, loves Sonia Kashuk Brow Definer’s perfect texture, which isn’t too soft or too hard. For a natural look, she applies quick pencil-like strokes to just the areas that need filling in but scatters some strokes throughout her brows to blend in the color. Lustig recommends going a shade lighter than your actual brow color for the most natural effect.

Eyebrow Extensions Now Exist
Find out how they work, how long they last, and how they could completely change your look.
Eyelash extensions revolutionized the beauty world, eliminating the need to curl, volumize, and lengthen lashes. Now, eyebrow extensions promise to make similar waves: They mean you could kiss coloring in and applying brow gel goodbye. It sounds like a no brainer, right?
But what exactly are brow extensions? And could they ever look natural? We caught up with Charity Engebretsen, owner of Master Lash By Charity, who offers the exclusive service to her clients in Santa Monica, California. Here, the lowdown on this truly innovative process that is just picking up traction in the U.S.
WH: Why did you decide to bring eyebrow extensions to your salon?
Engebretsen: My mother is in the entertainment industry, and when she came back from Asia when she was on a tour there 11 years ago, she said "They’re doing these really amazing things over there. They’re called eyelash extensions." And I was like, "Of course, why not?" We have amazing hair extensions. Why not create a micro-version for the eyes? So if we can do these on the eyes, which are so sensitive in nature—they don’t like being poked or prodded—then we can definitely find a way to do these on the eyebrows. So I’ve been doing it for the past few years. I actually went to Japan for my training.

Look Younger in 60 Seconds
Let the countdown begin.
Michele Promaulayko is the former editor-in-chief of Women's Health and author of 20 Pounds Younger, which is published by Rodale, Women's Health's parent company.
Big goals can sometimes seem overwhelming. I’m a big fan of incremental tweaks, small changes that add up to make a serious difference. A while back, for example, I vowed to eat breakfast at my table rather than at the dishwasher while emptying dishes. Now I choose healthier food, I eat more slowly, I enjoy my meal more, and I eat less. What tiny changes can you make today that will pay off big down the road? Here are some healthy life hacks to get you started.
Build a bonfire to burn more calories. Two simple facts: Muscle burns more calories than fat does, and firm glutes look good in jeans. To get the most bang out of your exercise time, then, focus on the largest muscles in your body first—your legs and butt. Do it with one simple exercise that can be done anywhere: the air squat. Stand with your feet slightly wider than hip-width apart, arms straight in front of you and parallel with the floor. Soften your knees, then slowly push your hips back and drop your buttocks toward the floor, until your thighs are parallel to the ground or lower. Pause there for two seconds, and then quickly return to standing. Repeat 11 more times. The slower you lower, the harder and more effective the exercise will be.

Time to Shine: Easy, Festive Makeup Looks
You don't have to wear a lot of makeup to sparkle this season. Take the less-is-more approach and accent your best feature for the perfect festive flair.
Play Up Your Eyes
Look on the Bright Side
To make eyes pop, start by curling your lashes. Clamp down at the roots and work outward to the tips, keeping the pressure the same to form an even curve.
Glow for It
To quickly go from day to night, apply a gold or silver eyeliner with sparkly flecks, such as Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner ($18, urbandecay.com).
Lash Out
Get sky-high lift with a volumizing mascara; try Rimmel London Max Volume Bold Curves Mascara ($7.19, drugstores). Wiggle the wand from side to side as you raise it to create a fan effect.

Brilliant Beauty Tips That Solve Every Problem
Feeling good about how you look has a major impact on your mood. For those mornings when a giant zit, dark circles or sad strands threaten to steal your swagger, we've got your back. Our supersimple, fast beauty fixes will have you loving your selfie in seconds.
Pump Up the Volume
When you don't have time to wash and style, take second-day hair to new heights by blasting your roots with a texturizing spray, massaging the crown of your head and then winding your hair into a high bun. Try BlowPro Blow Back Time ($20, ulta.com), which boosts fullness. Before you walk into your office, undo the bun, shake it out and, voilà , textured waves!
Reduce Sallowness
Peach blush helps balance a sallow complexion, says Kristofer Buckle, a celebrity makeup artist. Try Benefit Majorette ($28, benefitcosmetics.com) or Dior Cheek & Lip Glow ($37, Sephora stores) on the apples of your cheeks.

10 Amazing Beauty Tricks With Coconut Oil
Let's work backwards. When you think about the health benefits of coconut oil, we're going to guess that the last thing that comes to mind is rubbing the edible plant grease all over your face. Or your arms. Or your hair. But a growing body of research, countless experts, and an army of natural-beauty devotees swear by the stuff for just about everything. Are they onto something?
Yes, according to our experts. Coconut oil is used in many natural beauty products, and for good reason: It's naturally antibacterial and antifungal, it's an excellent moisturizer, it can penetrate hair better than other oils, and, well, it smells like cookies.
"Yum," says Tieraona Low Dog, MD, director of the fellowship program at the Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine. "Is there anything more luscious than coconut oil?"
We can't think of anything. But we can think of 10 amazing uses for it in your very own home that don't require spending a fortune on store-bought products. In fact, all you need is one thing: Raw (and preferably organic) virgin coconut oil.

6 Ways To Nail The "No Makeup" Makeup Look
The holy-grail goal of makeup is to look like you're not wearing any—like you woke up with a dewy complexion, long lashes, and rosy lips. Since that can be a tall order if you're, you know, human, we put together these tips for an easy, no-makeup makeup look that'll leave everyone wondering where you got your glow.
Skip the foundation
Nothing's less natural than cakey foundation. Go for a do-it-all BB cream instead, which combines the benefits of a moisturizer, sunscreen, and foundation in one tube—but goes on without a trace. Or consider a CC cream, BB's even lighter relative. Put a few drops into your palm and warm it up by rubbing it gently with your ring or middle finger before applying, suggests San Francisco-based makeup artist Emily Kate Warren. "The heat of your palm melts the formula so it has a more liquid consistency and sinks into skin more easily when you put it on," she says.

3 Ways to Lose 5 Pounds in a Month
Eat right all the time? Not gonna happen. Make small daily changes? Sure, you could do that. To prove it, we put three women to the test. Read on to see how making tiny tweaks to their eating habits helped them lose 5 pounds in a month.
No Alcohol
My one small change: "I ditched alcohol for one month"
Kellie Fagan, 25
Height: 5'0"
Current weight: 128.5
Pounds lost: 6.5
The Challenge
"My diet downfall is drinking," says Fagan. "Social events with my friends and colleagues always involve alcohol. I can end up having a dozen or more light beers, margaritas, or glasses of wine during any given week. And when I get a buzz, it's hard to resist junk food, which makes losing weight close to impossible."

4 Beauty Hacks That Help You Get Ready Faster
Fast-forward your get-ready routine and reclaim your time. These four beauty breakthroughs pack a one-two punch so you can skip several steps every morning. Now get out the door, gorgeous!
Shampoo + Conditioner
You wash your workout leggings on delicate to maintain their look and feel. So why aren't you giving your tresses the same TLC? Sudsing up with traditional shampoos daily can strip strands of essential oils that help hair look smooth and shiny. Unwash Bio-Cleansing Conditioner ($36, unwash.com for salons) gently removes dirt and sweat without leaving your hair dry. FYI: You won't get a frothy lather in the shower, but your hair will be bouncier than ever. Score!

Moisturizer + Foundation
You apply moisturizer to hydrate, then you layer on foundation to even out your skin. Tinted moisturizers promise to do both jobs but can fall short on delivering coverage. Streamline your facial regimen with bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 30 ($29, bareminerals.com). Along with a dewy glow, you get serious skin food: olive-derived squalene for a moisture superboost, antioxidants to fight pollution, and electrolytes to repair your skin's barrier. Choose one of 10 shades; buff it on with a brush for a flawless finish, or just rub it on with your fingers to let your freckles peek through.
Nail Strengthener + Polish
Think of this as a BB cream for your nails. With one swipe of Formula X Sheer Strength Sheer Nail Color ($13, sephora.com), you get keratin and botanical extracts that prevent splitting and peeling as well as a sophisticated high-shine shade (choose from 10) that can take you from work to play. Without the added drying time of a base and topcoat, you just shaved minutes off your DIY mani.
Lash Curler + Mascara
Fluttery lashes no longer require the scary clamp of an eyelash curler. A new magic wand—Benefit Roller Lash Mascara ($24, benefitcosmetics.com)—has a row of tiny hooks positioned between silicone bristles to grab and lift each lash. A conditioner-packed formula sets the curl for an impressive 12 hours, giving you a dramatic fringe that rivals eyelash extensions.
